Champion Technique's Swim Meet Philosophy

Learning how to excel at competition

Welcome to the Swim Meet Page! At Champion Technique, we view swim meets as an integral part of a swimmer's journey, offering invaluable opportunities for growth, learning, and development. While participation in swim meets is encouraged, it is not mandatory. We believe in creating supportive and enriching environment for all swimmers, whether they are competing for fun, experience, or excellence.

What Is Champion Technique's Philosophy On Competitions?

Learning Over Winning

Swim meets are primarily used as learning opportunities. While achieving personal best times is exciting and a primary goal at Championship Competitions, our focus is on helping swimmers develop racing skills, learn how to prepare for competition, and grow as athletes.

Inclusive Participation

We encourage swimmers to enter as many events as possible, not just their favorite ones. Every event offers a chance to learn and improve, and we believe in fostering well-rounded athletes who are prepared for all challenges.

Training For The IM

Individual Medley (IM) events are a cornerstone of our training philosophy. We require all swimmers to compete in the IM at every swim meet, as they provide a comprehensive test of skill, endurance, and versatility.

Important Guidelines For Swim Meets

Parental Support

We ask parents to leave the coaching to our experienced coaches all times, especially swimming competitions. Instead, we encourage parents to focus on being supportive and positive for their children. A swimmer's confidence and enjoyent are greatly influenced by the encouragement they receive from their family.

USA Swimming Requirements

Athletes must be registered with USA Swimming to compete in USA Swimming-sanctioned meets. Please note there are additional fees for participating in these meets/competitions.

Youth Development

Swim meets are a vital part of understanding why we train and how to compete. They help swimmers build resilience, adaptability, and confidence in a competitive setting.
